At the end of 2012 I packed up my bags and moved across the world on a whim.

A few weeks into my London adventure I’ve found a flat and some work to keep me occupied. What I haven’t done, however, is actually get out and see the city.

I accidentally stumbled upon Big Ben when I met a friend for coffee the other day, but that’s about the most “touristy” thing I’ve done so far.

So, any London experts – I’m willing to take suggestions! Let me know your favourite places, because I don’t even know where to begin!

  1. Welcome to London – since you are asking for suggestions, my favourite places are the less touristy things… I write a blog that typically profiles at least 2 of these places a week – you can search by borough or by category. londonunveiled.com Have fun – you’ll never run out of things to do. As a start, do the street markets, particularly the less touristy ones – like Broadway Market market, Brick Lane, and to places like Spitalfields and the old Truman Brewery. It seems to be where London is really alive right now.

    • Thanks for the suggestions! I took a quick stroll through Broadway Merket yesterday, but a couple of people have told me to check out Spitalfields, so I’ll definitely do that soon! :)
